Toddler’s skill development program

Our classrooms provide a secure, comfortable setting that has been specifically designed to stimulate toddlers during this quick era of brain growth. According to research, the first three years of life are a time when neuronal connections and pathways are being developed, laying the groundwork for all future learning. Add-on theory and the provision of considerate, dependable, warm, responsive, and regular adult-baby interactions are essential to this.

To offer our child, the face-to-face interaction they require to develop into a confident and self-assured communicator, we speak to them, play lap games with them, and teach them finger rhymes, with an emphasis on emotional development.

We encourage our infants to use all their senses as they explore their surroundings and their role in them by providing sensory experiences. Since mouthing is a normal way for babies to explore, we at LKA make sure that all the furniture and supplies in our rooms are safe and natural.

Our rooms are made to provide our toddlers lots of space to move around in a variety of ways, including crawling, rolling, standing, and bouncing, to enhance motor development. Using textured equipment, stacking objects, and squeezing toys, our babies are taught to reach for objects and to improve finger grasp and hand control.

Our teams put a lot of effort into making sure that caregiver and youngster synchrony develops to build strong attachments and speed up the settling in process.

The high adult-to-child ratio (1:3) throughout this age range makes sure that your child gets the best care possible.

We encourage the settling in process by moving slowly and getting to know your child well so that saying goodbye will be a pleasant experience. Each morning, parents are encouraged to remain and play with their child in our rooms so they can observe how we support our kids during this critical time.

Putting knowledge into practice We encourage our children to make sense of the world around them by using all their senses to explore, be creative, investigate, collaborate, problem-solve, and develop critical thinking skills. We do this by adhering to the New Early Years Foundation Stage and using an inquiry-based approach to learning.

Definitely! Care is one of the founding concepts of LKA Academy. As early childhood educators, we value compassionate interactions that come from a passion for kids. The basis for all we do is love and care for one another and the environment, which helps young children develop into kind, polite, and empathic adults.

Yes, our branches have a full-time registered nurse who is licensed by the Egypt Health Authority and is in-charge of overseeing the health, safety, and well-being of everyone who uses the facility and the surroundings.

We have parent orientations and induction days for all new and returning students at the beginning of the academic year. These activities are held every term for all newly relocating families. Shorter days called induction days help your child get used to the everyday routines. They also give parents and staff the chance to exchange information.

For kids who need a little more time to adjust, we collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to make sure that the transition period is relaxing and supported to build a sense of trust and security.

We recommend meeting with our Academy Principle to discuss your options if you and your kid are unable to attend the Academy during the settling-in program.

Each time a new term begins, parent orientation meetings are held along with a meet-and-greet with your child’s new teacher.

Parents should take advantage of this excellent chance to learn about the policies and practices of the Academy and to express any questions they may have. Meet and greet events are also an excellent opportunity for parents and teachers to exchange information about a child’s hobbies, care routines to be mindful of, and general knowledge. Visiting the facility before a child begins school also guarantees that they are familiar with the layout and the room staff before the first day. These sessions also give parents an opportunity to ask any additional questions and meet our Academy Director and Nurse.

Parents of children who begin school at different points throughout the year are welcome to schedule a private meeting with their child’s teacher.

Children should have a hot or cold lunch and a nutritious snack from their parents. The names of your child’s classroom and these should be prominently labeled. We encourage our parents to eat healthily by adhering to our no-nuts, no-sweet policy. Avoid foods like sweets/candy, high-sugar beverages, cakes, biscuits, potato chips, etc. Additionally, you ought to offer:

  • 2 additional outfits
  • Diapers, wipes, and any necessary barrier creams
  • A hat and sunscreen
  • A used t-shirt suitable for messy crafts

A strong Academy curriculum improves a child’s psychological, social, emotional, verbal, cognitive, and physical skills, according to research. Considering this, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) serves as the basis for our approach at LKA Academy, which is emphasizes inquiry-based learning. Additionally, we have a set of guiding values, which include communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and care, as the cornerstones for all teaching and learning. We think that kids learn best when they are actively engaged in something, preferably utilizing real-world examples. As a result, students can learn to acquire the attitudes, behaviors, abilities, and information they need to be self-assured and competent individuals while using all of their senses.

We don’t utilize technology in our setting for kids younger than 2 years old. For instance, kids can view internet documentaries to learn about various homes around the world. On occasion, people use technology to access instructional programs that serve particular-learning objectives, such math games and visual discrimination exercises. At LKA Academy, we truly believe that technology should only be used to improve the provision and to increase the value of the learning experiences.

We adopt a constructive approach to child behavior management, and this process starts with the children creating ground rules for all participants in the environment. All community members are expected to abide by this clear set of expectations and guidelines known as the ground rules.

Encourage your kids to think about more appropriate behaviors when they engage in problematic behavior. The youngster is supposed to learn to distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate behavior. When Thinking Time is required, the child is informed that the specific conduct is undesirable in a calm but strong voice. They are then removed from the environment to give them time and space to contemplate. After receiving instructions regarding appropriate conduct, such as “we take turns” or “we share,” the kid can re-join the group after a proper period of quiet. Thinking Time is dependent on the child’s level of comprehension and growth, and any disputes are always settled by emphasizing solutions and constructive actions.

Potty training is what we refer to as fostering toilet independence at LKA Academy. We recognize the signals and cues that show a child is ready to become toilet independent since we are aware that every child develops toilet independence at a different rate. Working together to help a child requires open communication with parents and caregivers. Commonly useful ideas and strategies should be explored and adopted. Toilet independence can usually be attained quickly and successfully when parents and caregivers collaborate closely, but this does take work from all important people.

We at LKA Academy are aware of how critical sleep is for your child. It’s crucial that all kids get adequate sleep in a safe setting to support their growth.

A nap in the afternoon after lunch is advised for kids under 2 years old. A relaxation break is highly advised for kids 2 years of age and older after lunch.

We acknowledge that parents are familiar with their child’s sleep patterns and will, if practical, collaborate to ensure that their child’s unique sleep schedule is followed. Staff members will not, however, keep a child awake against his or her choice or compel them to go to bed.

At the conclusion of the day, staff members will talk about any changes to the children’s sleep schedules and share their views and knowledge about how sleep-deprived kids behave.
